Parents for Family's Suggested Agenda to IPCC

Dear Miss Fung,

Your email of 24 Nov. 2014 is duly noted.

As indicated in our initial letter addressed to Mr. Larry Kwok, chairman of IPCC, our main purpose in meeting your representatives is a fact finding one. Besides, we (as concerned citizens) are willing to help out by attending future IPCC meetings as observers if such occasions arise and as situation permits.

In terms of our proposed agenda, we would like to lay down the following main themes for mutual discussion and understanding, namely,
1.       An understanding of the IPCC setup and its operational mechanism.
2.       How are the members (especially executive members) chosen and appointed?
3.       What are the “Checks and Balances” in place to ensure that the IPCC will meet her pledges of a fair, effective and transparent complaint system?
4.       Concerns of Parents for the Family Association and our friends in question.
5.       Any Other Business (e.g. is there any chance for citizens to participate in IPCC’s work for its betterment and publicity)

We would have 7 to 9 members attending the coming meeting on 5th December. We prefer to use Cantonese as the language of communication plus some English translation, if required. I shall forward the name list to you on or before 2nd December, 2014.

Please note also that we see the meeting as an opportunity to contribute to both IPCC’s work as well as to the wellness of our society during this critical moment when our society is plagued by the so-called “Occupy Central” movement. As such, we are happy to meet the press together with your representatives after the meeting if such press briefing is considered beneficial by IPCC.

Let me have your feedback or guidance should such needs arise.
Regards,

Howard Lai (Mr.),
President, Parents for The Family Asso.
